Fondue F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: What is fondue? What kind of food do you serve?
A: The word fondue literally means “to melt”. Fondue is a Swiss tradition where bread is dipped into a communal pot of melted cheese. At The Melting Pot, we serve a fondue dinner in four courses: cheese fondue, salads, entrée, and chocolate fondue. Cheese fondue is prepared tableside by your server and comes with bread, apples, and vegetables for dipping. We have a wide selection of salads and each guest may choose their own. Guests cook their own entrée course at the table while their server provides cooking instructions. All entrées are served with a fresh vegetable medley and dipping sauces. The final course is chocolate fondue. We melt milk, dark, and white chocolate in our kitchen and serve it with cheesecake, pound cake, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, Rice Krispies treats, and brownies for dipping. Please click the Menu link on the right to view the full menu.
Q: Do you require reservations?
A: We will attempt to accommodate walk-in parties, but we always HIGHLY recommend reservations. Please phone (317) 841-3601 after 12 pm daily to make a reservation or click the link to the right. Reservations for parties of seven or more cannot be made online
Q: How long does it take to eat?
A: Our typical experience lasts about an hour and forty-five minutes for a party of four to complete a four-course dinner. Parties of ten or more may take up to three or more hours.
Q: How much is a standard dinner for two people?
A:Click on the menu link on the right to view the entire menu with prices.
Q: We normally order the Big Night Out when we go as a couple. How does it work when we have an odd number of people?
A: We can add on half orders of any combination dinner with the exception of the Big Night Out Fondue Fusion . The cost is half the price of a the dinner for two.
Q: Can I come in for dessert only?
A: Yes, but as always, we recommend reservations or calling ahead even when guests are just coming in for dessert.
Q: What is your dress code?
A: We describe our dress code as “snazzy casual”. We do not require a jacket and tie for men: a polo and khaki pants or shorts are just fine. Women generally wear everything from an evening dress to a nice pullover and pants.
Q: Is your restaurant child-friendly?
A: We can accommodate children of all ages. Most children over seven years old find the experience fun and exciting. Considerations for children are hot and sharp objects are on the table at all times and a four-course dinner for two takes about an hour and forty-five minutes. Please let us know when making your reservation if you will need a high chair or booster seat.
Q: Our organization is holding a fundraiser. Can you help?
A: The Melting Pot is very active in the community and we love to help great causes. Please send all Donation Request Considerations on your organization's letterhead to:
